I do mix in good company. Besides Andrew, Simon, Ralph who were part of an expectionally talented group recording a CD of Schubert (Jenny is dying to have a copy of that), we also had people who were dancing at a local hotel, and the lovely  Peter and Abigail (they wanted to take me home, you c

It’s dodge the showers every time I want to go walkies at the moment. I’ve had to have the hair dryer on me yesterday, cos I was so wet. It’s a wonder I haven’t got webbed feet. The swans have of course and they’re more on the bank of the river than in it at the moment. Why do the weather people drone on every day and say the same thing. Be much easier if they just said – remember yesterday – well it’s the same today – full stop. Anyway it’s just as lovely around here when it’s wet as when dry. There’s plenty to do and see. The spring lambs are bouncing around in the fields. The trees are blossoming. Flowers are opening. Who cares about the Levenson enquiry! The only bugs we’ve got around here are in the compost heap.

Jess Ben and Chloe

Lands End here we come

Here’s me saying goodbye to Ben and Chloe this morning.  Thought I was going with them – got my lycra collar on ready! Ben is cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End. (1000 miles) in aid of St. Christopher’s Hospice near Crystal Palace, London. A Friend’s mother was cared for there last year before she died. The hospice needs £8 million a year to survive. Good luck Ben – it was our privelege to meet you and have you and Charlotte stay, and also to meet Chloe this morning as she joins you cycling today . Anyone can support Ben and the hospice via www.virginmoneygiving.com/BenGirling. Go on it’s a really good cause.

We had a super family staying with us this weekend. All 12 of them were so nice. I can’t help being the star of the show. The others helped to make the guests feel welcome of course in providing good service and half decent food but it’s my charm and cuteness that wins them over every time. You can see what I mean by the photo with Josie and Emilia. Jenny has to frisk people all the time because they all threaten to take me home.
