Happy New Year to all my readers!

Sorry I haven’t written anything lately. I’ve been too busy enjoying myself over Christmas and New Year.  Hope you had a good Crimble. Jenny and John took me to Watergate Bay near Newquay. They stayed in the Watergate Bay Hotel and I stayed with Paula, of Paula’s Pet Care in Newquay. Highly recommend it.  Lots of good walks, good company. there’s a parrot to talk to and a pet hedgehog – now that’s really different.

Anyway it’s back to news giving. We’re doing self catering at Portland House this year.

If you are looking for a large house to holiday in – look no further!

The quote on Jenny’s diary page today:

‘To get money you must spend it’  : Titus Maccius Plautus 254-184BC, Roman Playwright

Obviously no relation of Titus Arsolus or Mick Jagger

But first cousin to Speculus Accumulus and Jenny’s dear late mother

Wisdom indeed but us Wooffies don’t have to bother about all that.

We think Lynne wrote the poem? A great wordsmith, like her on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/lynne.rawlings.75

Hi Jenny, John Jo and of course my beautiful friend Jess,We had a super holiday,
With all of you, you know,
In fact it was so lovely,

That we didn’t want to go!
The scrambled eggs were super,
They really did impress,
As did the tasty pancakes,
But not as much as Jess! She is your secret weapon,
Who worked her charms on me,
And for her licks and cuddles,
I’m as grateful as can be.
I’m missing her already,
But hopefully one day,
Us girls will all return again,
For yet another stay!Watch the post and take care,Lots of love,
Jenny, Anne and Lynne. xxxx

Jess says-

Well are you ready? I am. I’ve got my bed and blanket on the floor in front of  the TV ready to bark at anyone who stops Team GB winning loads of medals.

Wish I’d applied to G4S now as a security dog – I could have had a grandstand view. Well surely they must need small wooffies as well as big ones. I can get to places a big woof can’t.

Just had to listen to Jenny’s latest idea. She’s going to form a village Book Club. They’ll  read only one book this year because the review process will take so long. The first book is called Fifty Shades of Gray. Next year they’ll move on to the trilogy of Noddy and Big Ears.

We’re all drowned rats with webbed feet. I blame the government.

Jenny and I have just back from a walk and jumped straight into the tumble dryer. Actually I prefer the hair dryer really.

But this rain can’t last, can it?  Oh hang on –  it’s Wimbledon coming up. First week will be alright, it doesn’t usually rain,  so if you don’t like tennis  why not cheer yourselves up with a short break down here? We’ve got some great offers on. You could always go on the river – ha ha

I do mix in good company. Besides Andrew, Simon, Ralph who were part of an expectionally talented group recording a CD of Schubert (Jenny is dying to have a copy of that), we also had people who were dancing at a local hotel, and the lovely  Peter and Abigail (they wanted to take me home, you c

More for my fan club

an understand why) who were at a wedding. How’s that for an eclectic mix. Didn’t know a Wooffie like me knew a word like that did you?

Eveyone of course raving about the breakfasts as usual. They are  award winning!!!

Jess Ben and Chloe

Lands End here we come

Here’s me saying goodbye to Ben and Chloe this morning.  Thought I was going with them – got my lycra collar on ready! Ben is cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End. (1000 miles) in aid of St. Christopher’s Hospice near Crystal Palace, London. A Friend’s mother was cared for there last year before she died. The hospice needs £8 million a year to survive. Good luck Ben – it was our privelege to meet you and have you and Charlotte stay, and also to meet Chloe this morning as she joins you cycling today . Anyone can support Ben and the hospice via www.virginmoneygiving.com/BenGirling. Go on it’s a really good cause.

Dog tired or Cow eyed – which is it ? Both I think. We’ve just come back from a long and brilliantly exciting walk. Jenny and me  with my sister Saffy and her ‘Mummy Anne’ to King Arthur’s Caves on the Doward Hill from my house, Portland Guest House. The weather was beautiful and the carpet of leaves stupendous. Then all of a sudden – wham bam there’s ‘Matilda and her friends’ straight ahead.  Jenny and Anne  had to get a stick each and cry ‘mush mush move’!!  And Saffy and me had to be picked up – the indigity of it. A herd of Fresians as well, not even Herefords for goodness sake. Who let these cows in?  Border controls lacking here again I see.  Happening all over the place these days. Anyway mustn’t milk this story any longer. But now you know what you are missing by not visiting South Herefordshire at the moment
